How You Met: Jonathan coached a 12U travel baseball team and invited me (Hollie) to come watch one of their games at Veterans Park in October 2017. We are both big baseball fans and “hit” it off from there. Our first official date was Taco Mama takeout and watching Game 1 of the World Series.

Favorite Details: With me working in preschool ministry, we wanted to share our day with those most special to me: my sweet preschool friends. We had a small ceremony with our closest family and friends at Haven, and then a reception at Dawson Family of Faith that was open to our preschoolers and their families. Tiny Weddings handled all of the vendors from the flowers and decorations to the cake. Our kid-friendly reception had a kids’ corner with stamps and crayons and photo booth where they could dress up as princes and princesses.

We also had to tie in our love of baseball! Jonathan’s groom’s table consisted of peanuts, cracker jacks and heart-shaped baseball cookies made by one of our preschool moms. Since Jonathan graduated from Auburn and I graduated from Alabama, we provided Alabama and Auburn shakers for our send-off.

The ribbon around my bouquet was ribbon from my mama’s bouquet. She and my father, Franklin, were married in September 1969. He passed away unexpectedly in August of 2017. We left an empty chair for him with a boutonniere to honor his memory.

What We Are Doing Now: We love living in West Homewood and are always planning our next baseball adventure.
